Full description
A beautiful silk and wool, needle felted textile art picture of a field of poppies. This background to this poppy picture has been created using coloured silk fabric and wool and silk fibres. The silk fabric is cut into strips and needle felted to a felt base with additional wool and silk fibres added to the surface to blend the colours together and add texture. Having created the background, pretty red poppies along with woollen fibres to create the grass, have been needle felted to the foreground. The needle felting process binds the fibres and fabric together without the need for stitching and adds texture to the surface of the picture. The birds have been stitched on using black thread. The picture has been mounted using a black and white card mount and framed in an 8" x 6" simple black frame.
