I can see colour and pattern in so many things. One day, I was stuck at home, looking for inspiration, when I got looking at a shell. I loved the pattern in it, so I decided to blow it up, and recreate a tiny section in a much larger size.

Full description
This is an original textile artwork titled Shell Study. It’s inspired by a close-up of a tiny shell found on the beach, and each viewer may see something different when they look at it.
The piece is painted on canvas with acrylics, then carefully hand-beaded, with added embroidery and sequins for texture. It is signed in the bottom right-hand corner.
The painting measures approximately 40 x 40cm, with painted edges. The canvas is 4cm deep and comes with a brass wire for hanging on the back. Over 200 hours were spent creating this piece.
