Full description
This pretty little fused glass dish is made using robin’s egg blue opaque art glass, which is a soft shade of blue/green. The simple design based on cow parsley is achieved by decorating the base glass with thin glass rods and crushed glass, and firing to a full fuse of 800°C, at which temperature the decorative elements fuse fully into the base glass, giving a smooth and glossy surface. Robin’s egg blue is a copper bearing glass, which reacts with certain other shades of art glass when heated to a full fuse, and gives an attractive faint dark outline where the two colours meet, as can be seen in the stems.
The dish is 20 x 10.5cm, It is gently curved, with a maximum height of 2cm.
I love the colours and design of this little dish, and think it makes a beautiful display piece.
