Bringing together two of the five elements, the colours of this scarf are inspired by the dancing colours of flames in a woodfire, contrasting with pools of icy water.

Full description

A warm scarf for chilly days, this scarf glows with the warmth of deep oranges and red contrasting with the cool of icy light blues. I have hand-woven the scarf using a hand-spun weft of merino wool to mottle the warm and cold colours in random variations all along the scarf. A tiny strand of gold lurex incorporated in the weft reflects the slightest hint of sparkle. The scarf is woven in plain weave onto a Tencel warp (Tencel is a sustainable yarn similar to silk); most of the width of the scarf picks up the icy blue of the warp, but it also has a broad border of deep rust-red. . At 154cm long (excluding tassels) and 22cm wide, this soft scarf is ideal for stylishly accessorising any occasion. Hand-wash carefully at low temperature and lie flat to air dry; the scarf can be ironed at low heat.
