From my weaving room on the top floor of my house, I have a wonderful view of the large silverbirch tree that dominates the end of my garden. I love to watch the breeze ruffle the leaves, and the way its colours change with the seasons. This scarf reflects the tree in autumn, the subtle mix of the light greens slowly turning to yellows, orange and browns.

Full description

This soft hand-woven scarf is ideal for autumn and winter. I hand-spun the weft from a mixture of 70% merino wool and 30% silk in delicate light greens and yellows with a touch of burnt orange. This was then hand-woven onto a warp of birch-green Tencel (a soft sustainable yarn similar to silk) with a thick edge border echoing the burnt orange hints in in the weft yarn. At 1.53m long (excluding tassels) and 22cm wide, it's an ideal size for wrapping around the neck and shoulders. Hand-wash carefully at low temperature and lie flat to air dry.
