HANDSPUN KNITTED KERCHIEF COWL
Measurements - The cowl measures 10" (25.4cm) from top centre to the bottom centre.
I handspun some soft merino wool in shades of brown, blended with a little silk, into a lightweight yarn. I also handspun some merino wool in an orange/peach colour. I then knitted this neckwarmer, bandana or 'kerchief cowl' to my own design, in a honeycomb stitch.
I call this a 'kerchief cowl' as it has the look of a kerchief or neckerchief, but it is joined at the back so there are no fussy ends to tie or cross over.
This cowl has a chic, elegant look, whether just worn over a top, or under a jacket or coat to fill in the 'V'. Great for early morning or evening walks.
I often wear one of these around the house when I feel cold, yet it doesn't feel like I'm wearing a scarf.
