I have recently been experimenting with these single section books, and I've been loving it! I've made a few journals with different types of paper, to see which I like best (the answer ... I love all of them!!).
This one, with Nepalese Mountain Lokta Handmade Paper, which has a gorgeous natural texture, would make a lovely journal or sketchbook.

Full description
The cover of this sketchbook is an original cyanotype print, featuring Nigella flowers from my English country garden, which make such lovely subjects for cyanotypes. Their common name is Love-in-a-Mist, isn’t that just lovely?!
Cyanotype printing is a wonderful form of alternative photography, where you use the sun’s UV rays to develop the print. I always use flowers as the subjects for my prints, and sometimes I add some extra ingredients … for this journal, I used salt in the wet cyanotype developing process, because this gives a wonderful crystalising effect.
The cover print is backed with Chinese Rice paper.
This book has 20 pages (40 sides) of Nepalese Mountain Lokta Handmade Paper in a lovely natural cream.
This single-section book is sewn at the spine with gorgeous Classic Blue Meisi linen thread from Pro Atelier Plus. Meisi Original Linen Thread is 100% Natural Waxed Linen. This Pro Atelier Plus thread is environmentally friendly dyed, so it fits right in with the ethos of my creations, which I try to make as Earth-friendly as possible.
The sketchbook is A5 size – approximately 5.8 x 8.3 inches.
It is all wrapped up in a ribbon created from recycled sari silk in a gorgeous turquoise green with sparkly golden highlights.
I have really tried to represent the colours of the cover print as accurately as possible, but colours on monitors and mobiles may vary.
