I love throwing on the pottery wheel and these tiny bud vases have been very popular. It is quite tricky to throw such small items. Ladybirds are such pretty insects and often denote good luck.

A very small stoneware bud vase with a ladybird transfer on the front. Hand thrown on the potter's wheel using just 75g of clay, then glazed inside and outside but not on the base. Stoneware clay is fired at very high temperatures and the clay is fully vitrified with the glaze making it completely watertight. The ladybird is applied as a third firing and is permanent. Each bud vase measures approximately 5cm high, 3cm diameter at the base and 1cm opening at the top. There may be small variations being individually made. The clay fires a light buff colour. Perfect for holding one or two small flower buds.
