The Springyclox was another crazy idea which will develop into something else as the scribbles on the paper bring new ideas and ways to make something even stranger for a clock at least.
The first ideas were to make a clock that was on the edge break of a wave, but I ended up with this clock. This one became an active clock with movement similar to a wave in the ocean visually. The movement when touched carefully makes this a different sort of beast compared to the conventional clocks.
Still another day, another go at the ultimate wave clock, just like a surfer trying to get the best wave so my idea for this will mature and eventually be built.

Full description
This clock base is in English Ash. The arm that supports the movement is made from two pieces of English Oak laminated together with epoxy resin to make a springy arm which supports the rippled ash face with a natural brown stripe and oak backing disk.
The dimensions are as follows; 440mm long from the dial to the end of the arm and 140mm deep at the base. The arm is removable due to the two stainless steel flange screws that have an American square drive head.
It weighs 1.4kg (3lbs 0oz). AA battery required. The movement is a gold colour Chinese made skeleton quartz movement the largest available at 150mm diameter gold dial with black roman numeral and black hands.
It’s our biggest clock and more complicated to make due to its bouncy oak arm which means the movement moves and the dial is not always square because it moves and the timber arm settles.
This clock is made from organic, natural, solid wood and will distort if put near a heat source such as a radiator, it will also discolour if left in direct sunlight. The item you see here is the one you will receive and I have aimed to provide dimensions which are as accurate as possible. Please note that wood is a natural product and can be affected by its environment.
