Full description
A set of ten spotters cards with a beautiful botancial illustration on the front and child-friendly clues on the back.
The flash cards come in a 100% wool felt pouch, handmade by me, with an appliqued tree on the front.
The cards are also designed and artworked by myself using the Adobe suite.
The illustrations come from an old book called British Wayside and Woodland Trees, which is now out of copyright. I have coloured the black and white images using digital software to bring them to life for younger minds. I have entitled the cards with the title of the book in thanks to the original illustrator, Mable E. Step.
On the back are clues to help you find the tree or plant outside. Written as if the tree is talking to you; the child friendly text engages and encourages young minds to explore. The information is up to date - I used the Woodland Trust website as a guide - rather than the old book!
The ten cards are beech, fern, hazel, holly, ivy, lime, oak, rowan, sycamore and willow.
There are also available individually with a corresponding handmade leaf baby doll - check out the range at my Folksy shop.
The cards are the same size as a business card 85 mm tall and 55 mm wide. The pouch is approximately 7.5 cm wide and 10 cm tall.
Please note the these are an educational tool to encourage your child to explore the out of doors alongside a responsible grown up!
