Stephen is an old friend now, and one of everyone's favourites. He's been around a long time - not just with me but as an entity. I think he was a person, once upon a time, but has gradually and subtly changed over the years as he became more introverted. He generally prefers to avoid people, but is partial to to a nice apple or a boiled sweet (he particularly likes sherbert lemons).

Full description

A dramatic horror art print featuring my best known monster Stephen, hiding under the bed. One for the grown up goths because he looks a bit scary, but he's actually very shy, which is why he's avoiding whoever is shining their torch through that doorway. Printed on fine art paper in the highest quality, with velvety black shadows. The original drawing was done in charcoal pencil on Fabriano paper. I've included work in progress shots so you can see my process.

The final image is a photo of the work framed, in a dark room because something very interesting happens with pieces like this. During the day you see the dark shadows, it's intense and very dramatic. At night, the whiteness of the paper stands out so the lighting appears to change as if someone has turned that torch on :)

Supplied as a print, framing in various styles is available on request. 82cm x 62cm, has a white border around the artwork.
