Full description
A handmade wooden pendant using a dark, purple heart wood finished with a hard wax satin polish. It is an irregular oval with an offset hole. The main faces of the pendant are the end grain which is why it is such a deep purple. The side is lighter. The pendant is approximately 4cm x 3.7 cm and 0.7cm thick.
The necklace is black waxed cotton which is adjustable between 30 and 80cm.
All the findings are sterling silver.
The purple heart wood is an off-cut from Yandles in Somerset. Their wood store is a beautiful sight to behold. All the wood can be traced to the source in managed forests. They have a couple of crates with all the off-cuts which is wonderful to rummage through.
The pendant comes in a small box made from undyed, unbleached, recycled card (a colour called hairy manilla).
