☆ all the seaglass and pebbles you see in my work has been used as found. Decades of rolling about in the sea has worked its beautiful magic.
☆ your item will be posted using recycled packaging, which isn't incredibly attractive, but it serves its purpose. And anyway, it's what's inside that counts. : )
You’re probably wondering what on earth an oyster drill shell is. Well, when it was inhabited, the creature inside would create a small, neat hole in another creature’s shell, usually an oyster, to feast upon it. Quite gruesome but also quite interesting.
These shells are beautifully textured, with all sorts of shades of sandy brown. The beads reflect its colour scheme, but I added some greens to offer a gentle contrast in a seaweedy way.

Hand-knotted oyster drill shell necklace created using white linen thread, faceted crystal rondelle beads which glint beautifully, smaller opaque glass beads and an oyster drill shell.
The beads have been selected to complement the sandy beige tones of the shell, with a delicate soft green contrast.
The necklace measures 21.5 inches, with a 2 inch stainless steel extension chain and lobster clasp. I’ve added a little textured Tibetan silver charm at the end. The oyster drill shell is 3.5 cms long.
This piece will be carefully packaged in a sturdy recycled cardboard jewellery box.
