Full description
I made these pretty coasters using premium, mercerised cotton yarn in sky blue, dark magenta pink, navy blue, scarlet red, mid green and golden yellow. Each coaster is a different colour flower. The centre of each flower coaster is light taupe.
There are six coasters and a matching basket to store them in. If all the coasters are in use, the basket can be used to hold all sorts of other things.
Mercerised cotton yarn is of higher quality and more hard wearing than regular cotton. It is treated with a natural alkaline solution when it is made (which is then all washed out) and this gives the cotton a beautiful sheen making all colours appear much more vibrant than with regular cotton.
Mercerised cotton yarn is also stronger, produces less lint and doesn’t shrink or lose its shape as much as regular cotton.
Coasters are 11.4cm/ 4.5 inch round.
Basket is 12cm/4.75 inch round but the lip at the top sticks out further, to 15cm/5.9 inch. Stands 5.5cm/2.2 inch tall.
Machine washable, full laundry instructions will be provided.
