I loved the Beach Hut fabric so much I was eager to make something out of it. I know Seagulls are controversial, sort of 'Marmite' birds to most. I love then. Up close they are magnificent, with such compact feathers they almost seem man-made, and there are so many sizes and breeds. I believe this is a Herring Gull which reminds me of Mackerel fishing as a child as they swooped around the boat.
I think the applique and the fabric conjures up spending time at the coast with all the sandy holidays and nautical exploits. I enjoyed making this cushion and think the gull has a cheeky yest cunning look on his face. Just hope he hasn't just stolen someone's chips of pasty)!

Full description
This cushion features a charming and unique appliqué design of a seagull standing in front of a coastal scene with colourful beach huts. The seagull is primarily grey, blue and white, with a yellow beak and legs. The beach huts come in various colors and patterns, including stripes and solids in shades of red, blue, and white. The cushion has been quilted with swirling patterns on the blue sections, representing the sea and to highlight the beach huts.
A pom-pom trim borders the entire cushion, adding a playful touch. There is a concealed zip and it complete with a cushion inner pad. The item measures 38cm x 38 cm.
This would make a novel addition for anyone who enjoys coastal-themed decor or appreciates detailed textile art. The colours are fresh and bright and would liven up any chair or sofa. An excellent and unique gift for the nautical minded or beach lovers.
