I love weaving 'crackle' - I never tire of how you can create so many patterns by changing the order of colours in both the weft and warp. Every crackle scarf is different, and has its own personality.

Full description
I have hand-woven this silky lightweight scarf in an intricate weave structure known as 'crackle’. It is made using the sustainable yarn Tencel, which has a feel and handle similar to silk, and is ideal for anyone who finds wool uncomfortable next to the skin. The scarf will get even softer the more you wear it. Crackle weave produces a repeating series of complex pattern in boxes each about 2.5cm wide. The height of each row of boxes then varies randomly between 1 to 5cm. At 1.54m long (excluding tassels) and 22cm wide, it's an ideal size for wrapping around the neck in both summer and winter. Hand-wash carefully at low temperature and lie flat to air dry; the scarf can be ironed at low heat.
