"Pugs' portrait was my first commission for her family. She was already elderly when I met her, and it was clear how central she had been to her owners’ lives. It was a privilege to capture her character so they could have a lasting reminder of her. Pugs was a patient sitter, and it was lovely having her here. Her story touched me, and I hope I did her justice in the portrait."
