We used to live in Johannesburg in the early eighties. it was the best time of our lives. In April of 2024 we decided that we would revisit South Africa and this time go to Cape Town which we had last visited over the Christmas and New Year Period of 1983. Our main reason for going was to see if we wanted to retire to Cape Town and it was a resounding yes.
Our main area of search for a house was a village in what is known as the Deep South of Cape Town called Kommetjie. It has a really nice village vibe and just fabulous beaches.
I had recently learned a new photo editing technique called the "Admaski Effect". I was actually trying to get some shots of Hout Bay across the waters but then this couple walked in front of me with their dog and I thought this would be a great subject for the "Adamski Effect" To create the effect you have to isolate the subject and take them out of the picture. Then you put a motion blur on the picture and add the couple back in.

We visited Cape Town in April 2024. We visited a small village called Kommetjie in what is know as the "Deep South" of Cape Town. It was just a magical place. The beach stretched around to Noordhoek and was at least 8KM long of pure white sand. It was truly one of the best beaches I have ever seen. While I was framing up the shot a couple walked across where I was stationed and I though it would be a good idea to get them in the shot and add some motion blur to the background so it added some motion to their walk.
