I was given some lovely slices of wood by my woodturner brother from Devon, both pieces with the moss still in place. They reminded me of the verdent undergrowth of the hedgerow which is of course the territory of the Wren. With a chance to make two life-size wrens posed on each, I was led in part by the angles of the legs as they met their mossy perches. So a bold singing wren and a quietly curious wren leapt into life.

Full description
An artfully handmade needle felt bird sculpted in natural Corriedale, Merino and Shetland wool fibre and mounted on a mossy plinth of ethically sourced Dartmoor wood. This characterful sculpted Wren is life-size, realistically patterned, and has all its flight feathers individually made by hand. A unique artwork, this piece comes alive with its sparkling eyes and cocked-head, bringing nature indoors as if glimpsed by chance in the hedgerow. Carefully observed and patiently detailed to be true to life, this little bird is posed looking up at your directly, perfect to keep you or a loved one company on a desk or shelf in the shade of a potted plant, bird book or pair of binoculars.
Wrens are sweet characterful little birds, who spend a lot of their time in low vegetation, catching your ear with their loud song and your eye with their perky short tail held upright.

Presented in a reusable gift box, wrapped and carefully padded for posting using the Royal Mail 24hr tracked service without charge for UK buyers or an additional charge for Tracked and signed International parcels for the rest of the world.
