This bowl is from a range of hand built pinch and coil pots with a textured exterior. The texture on these pots has been made using a small modelling tool to carve away small pieces of clay to create a grooved surface. Some pots are only part glazed to give a contrast between the shiny surface of the glaze with the matt rough finish of the stoneware clay. Colour is built up on the inside with layer of glaze to give a rich deep glossy finish.

Full description
Large bowl. Coiled bowl in a grogged stoneware clay which gives a speckled texture. The surface is hand carved in a 'fish scale' design. The exterior is finished with a white speckle glaze. The interior has layers of green and blue glaze which are built up to give a rich depth of colour with hints of red.
I make a limited number of these large bowls and each one is unique. This bowl makes a great statement piece.
