I love glass in all its forms tho not enough to work with it...textiles are my main medium. Dichroic glass is a particular favourite.. Wire wrapping is similar, in my mind, to stitching and I love the way it enhances the stone or glass cabochon around which I place it. I've used lovely Sterling silver wire to wrap this piece of glass, which I bought from Karen at artglasscabochons.etsy.com. Thanks Karen!

Full description
A beautiful dichroic glass cabochon in shades of blue and turquoise. The cabochon is wrapped in Sterling silver wires, some twisted and some left plain. All suspended from triple textile cords in silver colour and black. The lobster clasp and jump rings are also Sterling silver. The cords measure approx 19" or 48cm in length and the triangular cabochon measures approx 1.25" or 3cm across at its widest at the base and narrows to approx 0.25" or 1cm across at the apex and measures approx 2.25" or just under 6 cm long at its longest point. Dichroic glass is quite beautiful and as its name suggests, will vary in shades of colour depending on background colour( as you can see from the different background colours I've used to photograph the pendant) light and the direction the pendant is facing. The colour of this pendant varies from bright, light turquoise through to darker shades of blue. In certain light, the glass sparkles beautifully. The cords are long enough for the pendant to be worn over a jumper as the seasons change and the sparkle of the glass is just right for Christmas.
