Full description
Budgies (parakeets in the US) are very popular birds. I love their bright colours and happy-looking faces. Now you can own your own, and this one won't need feeding, but he will be happy to sit by you and keep you company. He would also make a great gift for a bird-lover, or someone who loves wildlife.
He has been made by sculpting wool over a wire armature and then carefully adding details with a finer needle and coloured fibres. I have lightly sealed his feet and beak to make them a little sturdier.
He measures approximately 12 cm (5 inches) in height.
The wool used in all of my soft sculptures has been ethically sourced, from local farmers and shepherds where possible. I like to support smallholders and small businesses wherever I can.
PLEASE NOTE: as with all of my sculptures, this figurine is intended as a decoration only and is not a toy. Due to small parts, and the wire frame, it should be kept out of reach of children and animals. It is fairly fragile but if it is handled with care, it should last a long time.
