Full description
A beautiful beaded lace shawl hand knitted in a cotton and acrylic blend yarn that is lightweight and easy to wear. It would look beautiful on a bride at a wedding, and also as a light cover-up on summer evenings and spring days.
The yarn I used creates long, gradual colour changes from teal at the lower edge, through dove grey to a soft white at the neck. There are hundreds of tiny teal beads, to match the edging and highlight the colour change, every one of which has been painstakingly added by hand. I have taken some close-up photos of the beads and the complex stitch pattern.
The pattern I used for the shawl is "Wild Swan" by Anne-Lise Maigaard & Nim Teasdale. It is a stunning pattern suggesting the wings of a swan, with stylised feathers that drape over the shoulders.
Care Instructions: The yarn for the shawl is a blend of cotton and acrylic which is washable, but the work is delicate, especially with the beads, Should you need to wash it I would recommend handwashing gently. It would then be advised to block it again, by pinning it back into shape and letting it dry naturally. I have added a photo of how I blocked it after finishing for reference.
