Containing real sand, stones, shells and a sand dollar, this mixed media painting is an original representation of an untouched portion of beach.
I have created it on a wooden round which is 25.5cm in diameter and 1.5cm thick.
It is a weighty piece which is why I have securely attached a brass loop on the reverse so it can hang on a nail or hook easily. It can be wall mounted or allow the hook to flip down and rest it on a stand on a surface.
This textural piece is hugely tactile and is made with acrylic, eco friendly resin, white sand, white pebbles, a sand dollar, a dyed craft shell, stones and shells. I deliberately leave the sides of the piece alone after initial painting and allow the resin drips to remain. I feel that seeing the history of the painting's creation adds to the effect.
