Welcome to my Folksy page everyone!

My name is Tarnia and everything you see on here is handmade by myself. I'm the sort of artist who, when I get an idea, has to carry it out before it consumes me. The trouble is, I get a lot of ideas.

I am mainly inspired by nature - the coast specifically. There is something rather calming, peaceful, beautiful and humbling about the sea. Maybe it's the Pisces in me. I love water and it usually features in some form in lots of my work.
You will also soon notice that I also LOVE glitter and anything which sparkles! I'm told that when I was small, I used to cut the ends off my nan's tinsel at Christmas and store it in a little shoe box along with anything else I found (thank you Quality Street for all of your shiny wrappers over the years). My poor parents had to return many rings and watches to friends and family, lol.

I digress. Art has always been important to me from a very young age and it my job too. I work in the Art department of a secondary school and have the privilege of working with some rather talented and inspiring people.
I live with my little girl and help to care for my nan too. My wonderful parents are my biggest fans and they help to keep me grounded.
I promote kindness, patience and selflessness through my actions as much as I can. I believe these qualities help towards enjoying life more and seeing the positive side of things. I refuse to let things get me down for long and my art helps me cope with life's many trials and stresses.
