During 2022 my daughter celebrated a special birthday and we visited Stonehenge taking the early morning tour one wet, blustery April day. The tour allowed us to wander through the stones (but no touching was allowed). A magical.morning. No visible sun!

A needle felt landscape of the Summer Solstice at Stonehenge.
This art work is available framed in a black pre-used frame either with the frame or unframed. Choose from the drop down at the time of purchase.
Worked using the needle felting method on a piece of hand dyed re-felt and felted onto a piece of reclaimed wool blanket. The bright oranges of the dyed pre-felt reminded me of the photos from the 2024 Summer Solstice at Stonehenge and inspired me to create this piece of artwork. The stones of Stonehenge are shown silhouette against this magnificent sunrise with streaks of mist covering the dips of the area surrounding the monumental stones
The outside of the frame measures 32cm x 32 cm. The art work measures 21cms square. .
