I wanted to use texture and shadow to create the effect for this piece. I like the way the absence of colour draws attention to the light and shade.
The piece is made from thin ribbons of air drying clay, formed into what appears to be random shapes, but are carefully designed to form a rectangle.

Full description
This is an original piece, using air dried clay, hand rolled, cut and formed into a unique design. The frame is wooden, with an acrylic front, and measures 20.5cm x 15.5cm x 3.5cm. The frame can be wall mounted, or freestanding.
