Lapis Lazuli is the most popular alternative to Sapphire for the September and Virgo birthstone
Lapis Lazuli is an ancient rock, an aggregate of the minerals lazurite, calcite and pyrite.
It has been prized by human civilisations for over 6000 years.
Cleopatra famously used ground Lapis for her eye make-up and Renaissance artists made a costly pigment from it called 'ultramarine'.
It is thought to promote self awareness, clarity of mind and inner peace.
Rainbow Moonstone is a form of white Labradorite rather than a type of Moonstone.although the appearance is very similar to Moonstone.
It is thought to bring emotional balance, harmony and hope.

Deep necklace featuring five 6x10mm Lapis Lazuli tubes separated by 5mm Rainbow Moonstone beads each highlighted with 2mm faceted Pyrite for a hint of sparkle.
The necklace then graduates from 6mm to 4mm round Lapis Lazuli beads, further embellished with glittery Pyrite and an extra pair of Moonstone beads.
Lapis Lazuli is a birthstone for September and Virgo.
The piece fastens with a Tibetan style golden toggle clasp in the shape of a rose.
The clasp is nickel and lead free.
This stylish piece would make a lovely handmade gift for an anniversary, September birthday, a special Thank You or as a well-earned treat for yourself.
Handcrafted (by me!) in my home workshop in Devon, UK.
This necklace measures approximately 17 inches (43cm).
Your necklace will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a pretty organza gift bag.
