I wanted to create an illustration which captures the spirit of Berwick-upon-Tweed in Northumberland, so I focused on creating ink drawings of 12 landmarks with a story to tell about the place and then added a splash of digital colour to give a fresh, modern feel.
From the Victorian lighthouse to the re-purposed Grade II-listed former public toilet, parts of the town’s Elizabethan fortifications, including the Bell Tower, and the earthen ramparts, as well as a Russian cannon, trophy of the Crimean War, the illustrations included in this series hopefully give you a flavour of what makes the town so unique! I include a small card with each purchase that lists each landmark and why it is interesting.

This series features x12 illustrated landmarks and places of interest in Berwick-upon-Tweed - England's most northerly town. The landmarks were all chosen as being representative of the spirit, history or geography of the town. Hand-drawn in black ink with bright pops of colour for a modern twist - the illustrations create a unique colour palette for the town.
Choose x4 coasters from x12 designs to make your own unique set, including: Lighthouse Red, Pantile Orange, Louvre Yellow, Royal Border Bridge Stone, Bell Tower Gold, Ramparts Green, North Sea Blue, Guildhall Taupe, Bari Bear Bronze, Tweed Silver, Swan White and Cannon Black. Just add which colours you would like to the notes field when submitting your order.
An information card with a potted description of each landmark/colour design is included with your purchase.
Made from sustainably-sourced wood with a cork base and UV-resistant coating (measuring 10cm x 10cm), these coasters make an ideal holiday keepsake or unique gift.
