We keep a pedigree flock of Gotland sheep just for their fibre. We shear in the Spring and again in the Autumn, this gives us two very different fleeces from the same animal. The fleece here is all from the Autumn shear, it is soft open curls with a bit of fluffyness at the top. The curls are approximately 9cm long. Gotland sheep fleece is naturally all shades of grey so when it is dyed it is not a solid colour, but shows as many shades of the same colour.

100g mixed selection of hand dyed green Gotland fleece. The fleece is from our Pedigree flock and is our Autumn shear, it is soft curls approximately 9cm long. The fleece is naturally all shades of grey, so when it is dyed there is a subtle marled effect rather than a solid colour. This fleece is ideal for spinning, felting and embellishing weaving projects.
