Full description
A gorgeous fabric book made from vintage fabrics. The outer cover is cut from a blue and ivory American vintage, patchwork quilt, edged in blue blanket stitch.
It is fastened with a further piece of the same quilt, cut into a fastening strap, with a vintage pearl button and a machined buttonhole. Depending on what you decide to use the fabric book for, the tab has room for approx 1 inch expansion, on the back cover, by moving it towards the edge - this will require you to do a few stitches.
Inside the cover you will find 3 double vintage, French linen pages, giving you a total of 6 single pages, for you to either stitch straight onto, or to mount your samples.
NB - the linen pages have been left raw and may fray a little.

A collection of vintage fabric swatches, pinned or stitched on to the pages.
Completed small pieces of embroidery work.
Dyed yarn swatches with labels, notes and dye recipes.
The book comes with a piece of vintage linen typed with the words “MY LITTLE BOOK OF SAMPLES”. This is left for you to decide, how and where you incorporate it into your sample book.
When closed, the book measures approx 17cm x 12cm.
Please note that the patchwork quilt used to make these needle cases, shows signs of wear, commensurate of the age of the fabric, but only adds charm to the finished item.
Please do not purchase if you prefer your vintage fabrics to be perfect.
