Full description
This low coffee table was inspired by the piece of Sycamore that forms its top. Sometimes a piece of wood sits in the workshop for a while before it decides what it wants to be and this was one of them. I originally milled the wood after it was felled to make way for an extension to a local hotel.
Sycamore is a little under-appreciated these days but it was not always the case. The great luthier Stradivarius favoured it for its remarkable strength and beautiful figure. This piece shows beautiful ripple grain as well as some lovely flame figure. The traditionally jointed Ash tripod legs were designed to complement the eccentric shape of the top so there isn't a single ninety degree angle in it.
It is a little hard to know where to measure but it is roughly 965mm long x 400mm wide and (definitely) 315mm high. It comes fully assembled.
The price includes free UK mainland delivery but I am happy to quote for delivery to more exotic locations.
