I have made patchwork quilts for over 40 years inspired by my American heritage and Aunt Maude, a wonderful seamstress, who taught my mother heritage quilting techniques, skills and a love of quilts which she passed down to me.
I have been looking at ways to recreate beautiful patchwork designs in miniature and working with paper allows me to do this.

Useful and beautiful oblong tray/dish for trinkets, pins, buttons, pens and much more.
The tray has a cardboard core, repurposed from a box, covered inside and out with a hand pieced collage based on the classic patchwork ‘Hexi Flowers’ design with square, hexagon and triangular border pieces.
The collage is pieced from a combination of patterned and plain paper pieces in a bright palette finished with acrylic paint highlights.
