I have made patchwork quilts for over 40 years inspired by my American heritage and Aunt Maude, a wonderful seamstress, who taught my mother heritage quilting techniques, skills and a love of quilts which she passed down to me.
I have been looking at ways to recreate beautiful patchwork designs in miniature and working with paper allows me to do this.

Square dish for trinkets, pins, buttons and much more.
The dish has a cardboard core, repurposed from a jewellery box, covered inside and out with a hand pieced collage based on a modern patchwork ‘Circles and Diamonds’ design with triangle and square pieced borders.
The collage is pieced from a combination of patterned paper pieces in a bright palette finished with acrylic paint highlights.
