A one of a kind pair of drop earrings, Zyre have been handcrafted from real seashells foraged on the English coast and electroformed in pure silver. The beautiful marbled painted egg cockle shell contrasts with the deep natural blue hues of the black cockle shell, both shining in the golden reflections of the layered metal. Being based on unique natural objects, this pair of earrings is a one-off and can never be reproduced. A unique yet elegant pair of earrings that stand out, while remaining versatile and comfortable to wear.
It makes the ideal gift for a nonconformist sea lover or for the modern artist.

Mussel and painted egg cockle shells electroformed in pure silver, with sterling silver ear hooks.

Black cockle earring: 3 x 4.5 x 2 cm
Quality:
This piece has been carefully handcrafted by myself in England, using two shells collected by me from the English seaside and then electroformed in pure silver. The electroforming process is a modern technology that encases objects inside metal by depositing it atom by atom using electrical current. I intentionally covered certain areas of the earrings with pure silver to protect the shells from damage and make it an extremely durable jewellery piece, while also leaving other areas uncovered to reveal the organic beauty underneath. I added nickel-free sterling silver ear hooks to ensure comfortable wearing. I finished off with a layer of 24k gold plating.
