There are times in the workshop where I make an item and find it really hard to let go of it because it's so beautiful... This is one of those times!
But let it go I must so may I present to you a stunning Spalted Beech (I think) side table, this lad is a bit of a chunky monkey but as the late great Tina Turner sang about it's solid as a rock!
Spalting is a wood colouration that is caused when fungi colonise the wood and extract nutrients from it, leaving behind dark dotted and lined patterns.
Standing on four coast iron hairpin legs, this piece will look great in any room and will no doubt turn a few heads.
