I make stuff, usually out of wood... It's not all perfect, but creating makes me happy!

Yo! I'm Spud and since I was a kid I've always made stuff. My Mum was never allowed to throw away any cardboard boxes, toilet roll tubes etc because I'd find a way to turn them into a robot or a space ship or something magical. As I got older the creativity didn't stop, I studied Art & Design at college, which then progressed into studying Photography and after graduating I found myself being an Image Retoucher working on Photoshop all day in various studios.

In my spare time though I was drawing, painting, up cycling and developing an interest in carpentry. My Dad had always been into carpentry, tinkering in the shed so through him I got more into it myself. He taught me many things and he was always my go to if I had a problem I couldn't figure out. Later in his life he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease which eventually put an end to his days tinkering in the shed, so most of his tools came to me but he was still on hand to help and he loved looking at the things I'd made.

He sadly passed away in August 2023, my hero and teacher was gone. I'd never be able to show him my creations again, hash out ideas, figure out problems. But I felt I owed it to him to carry on and try to make a go of this carpentry lark, see if I can make some money from it. He inspired me and every piece I make has a little bit of him in it, from the tools I use that were once his to the techniques he taught me... I do this for him.

Now dry your eyes and let me try and explain what the hell 'Perfectly Imperfect Creations' means. I sometimes use salvaged materials and if those materials have defects, instead of covering them up I try to make a feature of them.
I'm also a total amateur. Not everything I make is sheer perfection, some of it is imperfect (not so imperfect it makes the item total garbage)... But it's just the right amount of imperfect hence perfectly imperfect creations.

But I love what I do, and I hope you'll love it too.
