Thanks for visiting my shop! I'm an artist that works in a variety of media including dip pen, paint and printmaking. I'm passionate about nature, and I love to try and capture the quirky characters of birds and animals in my work. I send all items Royal mail first class and I currently only ship to the UK.

I'm incredibly lucky in that these reed buntings often visit my garden. In the Fens we have an extensive dyke system that is home to a fair few. I'm always happy to see them.

Full description

This little Reed Bunting (male) is hand drawn onto a wooden bookmark using pyrography, which is a wood burning technique. It's an unusual and ideal gift for a nature lover. No two of my bookmarks are ever the same because I sketch directly onto the wood and then burn the design by hand. These are handmade, collectable, functional pieces of art.

The bookmark is of 1.5mm thick plywood, and is approximately 12cm x 3.2cm. It is finished with satin artists varnish to protect it, and has a silky golden tassel. I try to keep packaging to a minimum with my products so the bookmark is presented on a die cut kraft card tag, cut and stamped by myself in my home studio, so it's ready for gifting.

Wood is a natural item so there will be imperfections. Pyrography can fade in direct sunlight, and is best kept away from extremes of temperature and humidity.

Colours can appear differently in real life to monitors and devices.
