I love finding ways of using up scraps of fabric which would otherwise be thrown away. There are very few odds and ends that don't find their way into becoming either a letter on a piece of bunting, a tail on a fabric bird or used to create a thank you note.
Having made a range of other banners I decided that a Congratulations version was long overdue! It's always fun arranging and re-arranging fabrics to see which work best together and I love this pastel combination. It would be lovely to think that this banner could find an appreciative new home where it could be brought out for many occasions to come!

Full description
Vintage style 'Congratulations' banner, created from snippets of leftover floral fabric in shades of pink, green, yellow and blue including odds and ends of Liberty and Tilda materials.
The banner has been created from white vintage cotton and features the word 'Congratulations'. The lettering has been cut by hand from fifteen different fabrics and then each has been machine-appliqued in place. It is edged in a cream, blue and pink floral bias binding and is finished with two vintage mother of pearl buttons. The banner is backed with the same white cotton fabric and has two hanging loops at the top.
Please be aware that the cotton fabric is cut from vintage sheeting and, as such, may have the odd blemish or flaw.
This would look lovely as part of celebration display and is the perfect antidote to plastic decorations.
The banner measures just over 100cm long x 18cm wide.
Please note this is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of babies and small children.
