I spin yarn to relax, often in front of the TV with the cat by my side. It's time spent with my vintage Ashford wheel and lovely fibre. This means I produce a truly handspun yarn (no electricity, just treadling foot power) which naturally has some variation. That's what gives handspun yarn it's character and life. It also means I don't spin to order. What I've listed here is spun and ready to go.

Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Additional terms
Returns must be in the original condition - for yarn that means not wound into a ball (unless you asked me to do that for you) and not knitted (or crocheted, woven etc). I know you wouldn't try to return yarn you'd used unless there was problem with it (in which case, let me know) but I have to say it Please note: You are responsible for the cost of return postage (unless the item is faulty or not as described)
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Full description
Aran/worsted weight hand dyed and handspun yarn, 100g, 171m (187yds)
This yarn is spun from welsh mountain/blue faced Leicester cross sheep, from the Cambrian Wool Community Interest Company. These sheep produce wool with beautiful sheen, and incredible bounce, and a long staple length. The fibre was hand dyed (not by me) in Wales too.
I carded 5 colours of this fibre together and created roving (thin strip of fibre) that moved through the colours. I then spun 2 singles of the yarn using the 5 different colours in sequence. When I plied the two singles together the colours combine to give a striking barber pole or mark effect. It's not exactly a 'self striping' yarn but it will move through the colours as you use it.
I have just one skein of this yarn available. I've checked the WPI and it's 11 wraps per inch which fits in the aran weight range. I'd suggest tension of about 20 sts and 28 rows to 10cm of stocking stitch using 4.5mm needles but it's always best to knit your own swatch to check.
Cool handwash, dry flat. This fibre will felt. I wet finish all my yarn which helps eliminate any loose dye, however, it's always sensible to wash dark colours separately, just in case!
