Full description
A pretty spring design featuring a cloud of pink blossom. Tiny diaies and very tiny sheep add further interest to the composition.
Scraps of felt, many of them commercial offcuts, have been appliqued to a background of thick wadding. Details of the design have been added in simple hand embroidery using threads (some of which are vintage), vintage 3 ply wool and a novelty pink yarn.
The plaque is edged in blanket stitch using threads to tone with the colours used in the background of the plaque.
The back of the plaque is neatened with commercial felt and a hanging loop, of button-hole stitch in cotton, is securely stitched in place.
Height (excluding hanging loop) - 12.5 cm approx.
