Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass.
Sometimes tiny gas bubbles, mineral crystals and rock debris are trapped within the lava as it cools, and these cause reflecting light to give a metallic sheen,
The colour of this sheen gives rise to 'gold-sheen', 'silver-sheen or 'rainbow' Obsidian.
Obsidian is thought to promote emotional balance and clarity of mind.
Labradorite is a feldspar mineral that exhibits 'labradorescence' - flashes of electric blue'green - in the light.
It was once believed that this flash was the Northern Lights captured in the stone.
This has lead to the belief that the stone has many mystical properties, and associations with intuition, self awareness and the awakening of the inner spirit.

Dainty bracelet featuring a centrepiece of seven 3.5mm AAA grade faceted Labradorite bracketed by 2mm Onyx and 3mm laser cut, sterling silver, 'stardust' beads.
The circle is completed with Black Obsidian beads that have flashes of colour.
The faceted Labradorite beads are a pale, translucent grey with a lovely sparkle and flashes of labradorescence that are very difficult to catch on camera.
A pretty, monochrome bracelet that will match any outfit, making it an excellent choice as a birthday present, anniversary gift or as a treat for yourself.
Handcrafted in my home workshop in Devon, UK.
This stretch bracelet measures approximately 6.75 inches (17.5cm).
Your bracelet will be wrapped in tissue and presented in a small organza gift bag.
Price includes delivery within the UK.
