This is an original handmade linocut print of Winchester Cathedral in Hampshire, England. One of a series. Left blank for your own message.

I drew the design in my sketchbook, transferred it onto the lino block using tracing paper, carved it with Pfeil cutting tools, and then handprint each copy.

They are printed on 250gsm white acid free card with a matching 100gsm white envelope. The card is A6 size measuring 10.5 x 14.8cm (4.2 x 5.8 inches). The white envelope measures 11.4 x 16.2 cm (4.45 x 6.4 inches).

The colour is a rich turquoise hand-mixed from ‘Phthalo Blue’, ‘Process Yellow’ and ‘Opaque White’ Caligo Safe Wash Relief inks. These are professional quality vegetable oil-based inks containing high quality ink rather than dye so offer excellent light fastness. That means they are less likely to fade in sunlight over time.

The professional quality oil-based ink and acid free card make this a perfect piece of art that looks charming framed and displayed for years to come. A card, keepsake and gift all in one (please note that my art does not include any frames shown in the pictures).

Because I hand mix the inks and print by hand you can be assured that every print is unique, coming out slightly differently depending on how I ink up the lino and the pressure I use when printing.

I post everything, UK only, Royal Mail 1st class, cello wrapped, in a board backed envelope. I post within 3 working days.

I am lucky enough to live just outside Winchester and am often in awe of how beautiful this city is. From Kingsgate to King Alfred’s statue, from the Great Hall to the Cathedral, every corner uncovers another historical building, a tantalising glimpse of somewhere with historical relevance, or simply a beguilingly beautiful spot. And if you dare to simply look up when walking down the high street, you could imagine yourself in a Jane Austen novel. So my Winchester series pays homage to this beautiful city, with a contemporary twist.
