Hi. My name is Kristina. I live in a village just outside Winchester in Hampshire, with my husband, two young sons and a spirited hamster called Hazel.

When not working, or doing Mum jobs, I spend every spare moment on my art. Recent years have dealt us some challenges as a family but art has always been the medicine that gives me meaning throughout.

I am very much a kitchen table artist (we have no spare room for anything else!) I had spent most of my adult life painting in oils but that became too tricky with young children around. Then, in the pandemic, my husband gifted me a small lino printing kit and I haven’t looked back.

I am completely self-taught, visiting the library, keenly watching online demonstrations, and following fellow printers whom I admire.

Just like my years of painting in oils, I am inspired by interesting compositions and the beautiful tonal contrasts resulting from the play of light on objects. Lino printing has now also introduced me to mark making and more illustrative design never made possible in painting.

Friends have been suggesting I should sell my art for a while, so I held my first art stall in 2023 to test the waters, and now here I am on Folksy. It's been a very exciting journey, not without it's scary moments, as I always think that sharing your inner artist exposes your own vulnerability.
