The lavender pearls are Shell Pearls, which are man-made from nacre, the same material that oysters use to make genuine pearls, and are considered the best quality replicas you can get.
The top quality 'crystal Burgundy' glass pearls are made in Austria, and contain a crystal ball core coated with several layers of nacre - the same material oysters use to create real pearls - to create a smooth, shimmering finish.

Pretty glass and shell Pearl necklace with sparkly pink Austrian Crystals and a handmade faceted glass drop pendant.
The centrepiece features a handmade pendant with a glittering 10mm faceted glass drop in a light amethyst colour, topped with a trio of 5mm, 4mm and 3mm Austrian 'rosaline' crystals and an Austrian 'crystal Burgundy' pearl set between gold vermeil rounds.
The pendant sits between a pair of 5mm crystals and a pair of 'crystal Burgundy' pearls.
To either side are five 6mm lavender shell Pearls, graduating to 5mm Austrian glass Pearls in the colour 'crystal Burgundy', inset with more sparkly 3mm 'rosaline' bicones, highlighted with tiny 2mm gold vermeil spacers.
Gold vermeil is sterling silver that has been plated with 18k gold.
The pearls have a beautiful, almost metallic, purple sheen, and the dainty, rose-pink crystals add a lovely sparkle.
The necklace fastens with a Tibetan style gold toggle clasp that is nickel and lead free.
