Welcome to my shop!
Here I sell art prints of my original drawings and paintings and also hand embroideries.
I love creating, whether it's on paper or fabric and I'm inspired by many things, especially nature. I love small details and the meditative process of creating intricate details at a slow pace.
I visit Burham Beeches forest regularly as I love to see trees in all their different forms throughout the year. The forest is a calm and peaceful place, which I find both relaxing and inspirational.
Many of the trees in this forest are hundreds of years old and their knarled and twisted trunks and branches are extraordinary, they defintely have a magical quality, which I am trying to convey in my drawing.
I used fine liner black ink pens of various sizes, plus a black watercolour wash to create the details and shadow.
This print is hand finished with Winsor and Newton gold ink. The original gold watercolour I used does not print well, so I decided to paint this back by hand. So each print will be slightly different in the gold areas.
The gold shapes and highlights symbolise for me the magic and ancient knowledge which is held in these trees.
Printed on Hahnemuhle German Etching 310gsm paper.
