Here I sell art prints of my original drawings and paintings and also hand embroideries.
I love creating, whether it's on paper or fabric and I'm inspired by many things, especially nature. I love small details and the meditative process of creating intricate details at a slow pace.
This was one of my first fully completed ink pen drawings. I had dabbled a bit on and off in the past but it was during the pandemic I really got into getting lost in the details as a way to calm my mind.
I like to walk in forests and if I'm lucky I can stumble across some mushrooms. I find them fascinating to look at, they definitely have a magical quality.
This artwork was drawn from my imagination, so the mushrooms are not meant to be totally realistic. They're loosely based on real ones. I was enjoying playing with the form of them against a background of other forest flora.
I found much satisfaction in creating all the scribbles, wiggles, dots and lines which I love to use to create texture and shadow.
I lost count of how many hours I spent on this one. It was done over a few months, dipping in and out over time. So it's probably quite a lot of hours of scribbling away!

Full description
A square black and white art print, taken from one of my original ink drawings inspired by mushrooms growing on the forest floor amongst ferns, ivy and other woodland plants.
This Giclee print is on thick high quality Hahnemuhle German Etching matt paper, which has a textured watercolour paper finish.
The size of this print is 296 x 296mm. The actual image itself is H 241mm by W 233mm. There is a white border approx 30mm all around.
