Thank you for visiting the quirky garden!

Many of my birds have nicknames and a back story, so please read the inspiration section in my listings to find out more about the residents.

This is Runwink. He was inspired by the lapwing - the National Bird of Ireland - and he was created to celebrate St Patrick's Day. I've over emphasised the green sheen on his plumage to further celebrate our Emerald Isle. The name lapwing is thought to be derived from an anglo-saxon word 'hleapewince', which was used to describe the bird's tumbling flight pattern. Today's translation would be 'run and wink' - hence this bird's nickname.
