“unique bird sculptures whimsically handcrafted from fabric remnants”

Shop Announcement:

Thank you for visiting the quirky garden!

My aim is to save fabric and other reusable materials from landfill... and have fun along the way. I'm inspired by the bird life of the Tamar Valley where I live.

Some of my birds have nicknames and a back story, so please read the inspiration section in my listings to find out more about the residents.

About the quirky garden

the quirky garden

quirky birds whimsically handmade using reclaimed fabric remnants

For as long as I can remember I have had a passion for nature & the environment, and a keen interest in crafting & creativity. Almost all of my projects are nature inspired. I particularly enjoy playing with colour and texture. I also like giving new life to materials that would otherwise have been discarded, and my large fabric ‘stash’ is comprised of textiles that have been gifted, thrifted or purchased from local charity shops.

The majority of my collection has been inspired by the birdlife of the Tamar Valley, an area that I am fortunate to call home, but occasionally inspiration comes from further afield. Each bird is unique and I love to watch their character’s grow as they are assembled.

When not crafting I can be found in my garden or exploring the local woods, fields and estuaries.
