After designing my smaller play on the go play scenes, I was asked to make larger versions suitable for floor play - more like a play quilt. The first was for two little boys living in Saudi Arabia and their mum wanted something to amuse them indoors away from the heat.

BESPOKE ORDERS CLOSED FOR 2025
A stunning handmade floor play mat with scenes designed to your child or grandchild's interests. Perhaps they would like Rapunzel's Castle, or a Pirate Island jutting out of an undersea scene with shark caves. Or mermaid grottos. The options are endless. Perfect for solo or group play.
Made to order
The play mat will be individually designed, and beautifully made with lots of machine appliqued and embroidered motifs on a cotton fabric background interlaid with soft wadding like a quilt. The scenes will be scaled to suit your requirements - for example toy cars or mini plastic animals, or larger to suit teddies or dolls. Your playmat will be backed with a fabric that complements the theme, and optional loops can be added to hang as a wall picture.
My play scenes are toy tested to EN71 standards and are UKCA marked.
SIZE: My standard floor playmats are approx 1 metre by 1 metre. See other listings for smaller versions.
TO ORDER: Please complete the options boxes to tell me what theme you would like, and any special requests like embroided names or specific colours or features.
Please provide an email where I can send you a mock-up (basic drawing and fabric choices).
It usually takes 3 weeks once you have agreed the mock-up. Cancellations can be made for a full refund at any stage.
Care: Can be machine washed at low temperatures. Line drying recommended, but can be tumbled on cool.
